These enzymes are involved in the metabolism of amino acids, the synthesis of haem (part of haemoglobin), the metabolism of glycogen, and the conversion of tryptophan (an amino acid) to niacin (vitamin B3).
A deficiency of vitamin B6, especially in the active form P-5-P, can lead to various health problems.
